Meet the Team
We’d like to introduce ourselves and allow you to Meet the Team. The key members of The Rural Business Community team are:
Charlie Reading- Managing Director
Charlie Reading is the managing director of The Rural Business Community and also a Chartered Financial Planner and the Managing Director of Efficient Portfolio. Although he established his business in London, he moved back to Rutland to raise his family in 2006, and now most of his business focus is on Rutland and the surrounding area. Charlie is married to Caryl and they have two daughters.
With over 14 years experience as an adviser in the financial industry, he has gained specialist qualifications in investments, pensions, taxation and trusts. This enables him to give expert advice in these areas to both companies and individuals.
The concept of The Rural Business Community was created by Charlie Reading at the end of 2009. At this time Charlie was working operating from his home, where his Independent Financial Planning company, Efficient Portfolio, was rapidly expanding and becoming more and more desperate to be located in a professional office with meeting room facilities.† Charlie saw other small business owners struggling to make working from home successful, and them also missing out on the networking and social side of working from an office. In Rutland, the search for a fully serviced office that provided the essential meeting rooms that he needed for his clients, provided to be impossible. Charlie soon realised that there was a distinctive gap in the Rutland market for a rural based, serviced office facility that allowed small businesses to operate in a professional environment.
He enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and squash, travelling and is passionate about scuba diving.
