A Time For New Beginnings

Whether it is personally or as a business, 2012 is a time for new beginnings, fresh starts and resolutions. This could not be truer for The Rural Business Community. Our focus for 2012 is on our members, customers and the local community. We want to help local businesses and individuals thrive in the current economic climate, through networking, collaboration and value for money business support services. If like us you want 2012 to be a successful and prosperous year for your business, then read on.

As part of our new beginnings, we have decided to assist businesses by reducing their costs. We want to make the cost of renting an office space, whether it is a ‘Hot Desk’, ‘Warm Desk’ or ‘Private Office’ even more cost effective for our local businesses. That is why we are offering new customers 50% off your first month’s rent, meaning that whether you opt for a ‘Hot Desk’, ‘Monthly Desk’ or Private Office, you only have to pay half of the rental fee for the first month. And to save you even more money, we have decided not to charge a set up fee for any new company or individual that joins The Rural Business Community before June 2012. This is a great opportunity for anyone who is starting up a new business in 2012, or for those of you who are planning on a new office space. Please see our website for more information and terms and conditions. In addition to our offer for office space, we are also offering 50% off our meeting rooms for non members of The Rural Business Community. The conferencing and meeting rooms that we have on site are the ideal location to meet with your clients and colleagues. They come with all of the modern facilities that you would expect, including LED screens, Wi-Fi connection, a professional receptionist to greet your delegates and a bespoke events organisation package (if required). We are also working in collaboration with excellent, local pubs and hotels in order to bring you freshly prepared catering, accommodation and dinner, bed and breakfast packages. Our location could not be better for your event, as we are set in beautiful surrounding farm land, which gives you the peace and tranquillity that your meeting, seminar, training day or conference deserves.  We have also collaborated with several local artists, who have kindly let us display their work, making the experience of a meeting here more like a ‘get away’ experience for your colleagues and clients. So if you are looking for a new venue in 2012, we would love to show you are facilities at The Rural Business Community. Please  call 01572 338001 or email info@theruralbiz.com  for more information and terms and conditions relating to our offer.

As part of our commitment to improve networking and collaboration opportunities for our members and customers, we have put together a range of exciting events that will be taking place at The Rural Business Community. For us, development and collaboration are the keys to success in business.  Without making contacts and sharing ideas, most businesses will struggle, especially in the early years of a company. In order to support our small, local businesses we will be hosting regular networking meetings, called ‘The Active Referral Network’. This will allow fellow members of the community to explain their business ideas and specialities on a regular basis, so that they really do understand how the companies that are working under the same roof really can add value to each other’s clients and business structure. For members, i.e. tenants, of The Rural Business Community, these group events are completely free of charge. We are also looking into extending this networking event to other businesses working in Rutland, meaning that a broader perspective on business in the county can be heard.

We are delighted to announce that we will be hosting a series of free seminars at The Rural Business Community throughout 2012. The titles include ‘ A Master Class in Financial Planning for Business Owners’, ‘Why Poor Value Pensions Cost You Your Retirement’, ‘In Your Family You Trust’ and ‘How to Immediately and Massively Grow Your Business’, to name but a few. These free, educational seminars are geared towards helping local individuals and companies develop and ultimately safe guard themselves against financial difficulties. We will have a range of expert speakers at these events, which will be able to offer you vital information and guidance, as well as answering any questions that you may have. Whilst reviewing our company’s goals, we wanted to take into account the issues that are important to our local people. The main concern for many was the environment. Recycling and eco-efficient energy are a top priority for many individuals, including us. Many companies want to be able to reduce their carbon foot-print and promote themselves as being eco-friendly, but this can become an expensive exercise. Eco-efficient energy, such as Solar Panels and Ground Source Heat Pumps are incredibly beneficial for the environment, but having this type of energy saving facility fitted can prove to be an expensive, even though they will save you money in the long term. With this in mind, we wanted to help our local companies by providing an office environment that fully supports renewable energy resources, but kept costs down for them. That is why The Rural Business Community has had both Solar Panels and a Ground Source Heat Pump fitted, meaning that our offices and conference facilities are truly eco-efficient and helps to support the environment. We also have a recycling programme in place to further aid our goal of a significant reduction in our carbon footprint. The great news for our members is that they too can now promote themselves as being eco-friendly, and, because of a reduction in cost for utility bills, their rental fee will remain low. We are proud to promote ourselves as being conscientious about the environment and we are confident that we have created a great place for other businesses to be able to do the same.

I hope that at least one of our commitments will help you and your business to succeed. If you have any questions or would like to come and see the facilities here, we would love to hear from you.  I would also like to wish you all the best of luck with your own New Year’s Resolutions, goals and objectives for 2012!
