Summer Blog 2013

Once again summer is upon us (insert comment about the weather here!) so here is our Summer Blog 2013. I hope that you are looking forward to holidays, BBQ s and warm (probably not) evenings. Whatever this summer has in store for you, I hope that you enjoy it!

The Place to Meet

At The Rural Business Community, summer is great time for us to welcome new and existing businesses to use our centre for training and team-building days. Our seminar and conference facilities, coupled with the beautiful surrounding land, are the ideal location for meeting clients, training with colleagues or even holding interviews. We have already seen a rise in bookings over the past few weeks, so here is to hoping for a successful summer.

This year we have also introduced our new Rural Business Community Cold Lunch Menu; a delicious selection of ciabbattas and wraps, with fillings such as Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese, Italian Chicken and Lincolnshire Poacher and Home-made Chutney. This platter is completed with a selection of home-made savouries and crisps, fresh seasonal fruit and cold beverages. We hope that our new menu will add that special edge to your meeting.

Free Seminars

On the subject of events, we are delighted to be once again hosting a series of seminars by Efficient Portfolio ( These financially themed events aim to help a range of people with a whole host of financial issues. We would like to wish Efficient Portfolio all the very best of luck with these seminars.

For anyone who regularly visits The Rural Business Community, you will no doubt be aware of our love of local art.  We firmly believe that supporting the local economy and collaborating with local companies and individuals are the ingredients for success. With many local art exhibitions taking place throughout the summer, the pieces on our walls are constantly changing. Whether you are looking for a special present, would like to support local artists, or would just like to come and view the fantastic array we have on display, you are always welcome to drop in and have a look!

Office Space

I am often inundated with requests for office space. Whilst we would love to be able to offer everyone an office or desk at our centre, we only have limited space! However, I have got some great news for anyone who has been eager to become a part of our community on a more permanent basis. As of the end of June I will be able to offer a 2-3 person Private Office to anyone looking in the area, and I wanted you to be one of the first to know. Whether you are currently based in Rutland, work from home or are looking to relocate to the area, The Rural Business Community is the ideal base for you. We offer a blend of a professional, fully service office with a unique, rural charm. You can read more about our offices by clicking here.

Office News

At the beginning of May 2013, we welcomed a new member of staff to The Rural Business Community. Carol Hegarty has joined us to take charge of the Reception area and help to deliver our range of Virtual Office Solutions to our customers. Carol has already started to take an active role in the running of events and seminars and is proving to be a highly valued member of the team. Welcome aboard Carol!

I hope you enjoy your summer.

Best Wishes ,
